Major Musical Events at St. George’s

These are exciting times for music at St. George’s.  Our new Parsons pipe organ

is finally here.  When it arrived, (on my birthday), many members of the St. George’s community were there to help celebrate and provide the muscle to load it into the church.  As I write, the remaining pipes are making their final journey from the Parsons shop, the console and action are in place and undergoing final adjustments, and the electronics are being connected.  Pipe installation and voicing will begin shortly, and we expect to be fully operational by December.

In other musical news, the St. George Chamber orchestra performed this past Sunday at its first concert of the season, featuring music of Stamitz, Vivaldi and Buxtehude.  For a video of the Concerto for Clarinet and Strings by Carl Stamitz, please visit the performance page on this blog.  More video and recordings will be added soon.
