A Great Opening Day

Sunday, January 18 was a great day for St. George’s Episcopal Church. Our new Rector, the Rev. Joe Hensley, celebrated his first Sunday with us. The energy in the sanctuary was wonderful, and our musicians outdid themselves. Great solos form the Jazz Ensemble, fine playing from our woodwinds, and the best choir performance of Stephen Paulus’ “The Road Home” ever. We’re all very happy to be through our transitional period and ready to get on to the next chapter in St. George’s journey with our new fearless leader, as the energy from our musicians clearly showed. As a bonus for the day, we had a great afternoon concert by our friends from the left coast, David Isaacs and Chelsea Camille, known as Chanson du Soir, who performed a varied program of music for classical guitar and voice. All in all, a fantastic beginning to Joe’s journey with us. Onward and upward…
